TICO of Canada Intermodal Equipment Solutions Inc. is a federally chartered corporation that is the exclusive distributor in Canada for Terminal Tractors and the innovative intermodal products and solutions built by TICO ( Terminal Investment Corporation) of Savannah, Georgia USA at their 120,000 sq ft manufacturing plant in Ridgeland South Carolina. TICO started in business over 70 years ago and manufactured terminal tractors for over twenty five years.

Dominic J. Taddeo
Chairman of the Board


Mr. Taddeo is the former President & CEO of the Montreal Port Authority

Mr. Dominic J. Taddeo was born in Montreal where he obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Finance and Economics, from Loyola College now Concordia University. He began working for Thorne Riddell as Internal Auditor. He then joined Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Ltd. as Internal Auditor and was later promoted to the position of Chief Accountant.

Mr. Taddeo began his career in the shipping industry in 1971 when he joined McLean Kennedy Inc., steamship agents, brokers and terminal operators, where he held the positions of Assistant Treasurer and Controller.

In 1974, Mr. Taddeo joined the Montreal Port Authority as Director of Finance. He subsequently held the positions of Director of Finance and Administration and Director of Operations before his appointment as President and Chief Executive Officer, in March 1984.

Throughout his career, Mr. Taddeo has taken an active role in the advancement and promotion of the industry in Canada and abroad.

In August 2006, he was elected Chairman of the Board of the Association of the Canadian Port Authorities (ACPA), a function he also held in 1982-1983 with the same organization known then as the Canadian Port and Harbours Association (CPHA).

Mr. Taddeo has been and still is an active member of various committees of the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA), which he joined in 1975. He was elected and served as Chairman of the Board of AAPA in 1989-90.

He has also been a member of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) board since May 1985, and a member of its Executive Committee since 1986. In 1999, Mr. Taddeo was elected President of the IAPH board, a function he held until the end of his term in May 2001.

Since January 1990, Mr. Taddeo is Chairman of the Board of EDICOM (Electronic Data Interchange for Commerce), a Montreal-based EDI project of strategic importance to Canada's transportation and trade community.

In 1998, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Laurentian Bank of Canada, and was a member of the bank's Audit Committee and also Chairman of the Audit Committee from November 2002 to October 2005. His mandate on the Board of Directors of the Laurentian Bank of Canada ended in March 2007.

Mr. Taddeo was also a Director of the Société du Havre de Montréal, a harbourfront development agency created in October 2002 by the Federal Government and dismantled in June 2006. He is currently a Director of Développement économique Longueuil, an economic development corporation created in November 2002 by the City of Longueuil.

Mr. Taddeo has also received several honours:
  • April 1985 : “Golden Lion Award” presented by the Order of the Sons of Italy in Canada;
  • May 1989 : “Transport Personality of the Year” for the Province of Quebec;
  • November 1989: “Award of Distinction” presented by the Faculty of Commerce and Administration of Concordia University;
  • May 1995 : “Dimensions 1995 Award” presented by La Corporation professionnelle des administrateurs agréés du Québec (Order of Chartered Administrators ofQuebec).
In addition, Mr. Taddeo is very active outside of his professional career. He has been:
  • Co-président of the Gala d’intronisation du Panthéon des Sports du Québec in 2006;
  • Honorary Chairman of the ESTim awards gala for the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de l’Est de l’Île de Montréal (CCIEIM), east-end Montreal’s board of trade, in May 2005;
  • Honorary Chairman of the 2005 special fundraising campaign for the Saints-Anges Church’s grand organ;
  • Honorary Chairman of the 2004 Ducks Unlimited Canada fundraising gala in Montreal;
  • Honorary Chairman of the 350th anniversary celebrations of Marguerite Bourgeoys’ arrival in Ville-Marie in 2004;
  • Honorary Chairman of the Marie-Clarac Hospital Foundation’s benefit cocktail, in 2004;
  • Chairman of corporate sales for the Bell Canadian Open at the Royal Montreal Golf Club, in 2001 and 1997;
  • Vice-President of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Quebec’s 1996-97 corporate campaign;
  • Co-Chairman of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra fundraising campaign for 1996-97;
  • Co-Chairman of the Church of Montreal Annual Collection in 1992 and 1993;
  • Chairman of the 1991 St. Mary's Hospital Ball;
  • Director of the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, from 1989 to 1991.
Mr. Taddeo is a past Member of the Board of Directors of the Cedars Cancer Fund of the Royal Victoria Hospital. He was elected from 1977 to 1983 to serve at La Commission Scolaire Baldwin-Cartier, and was Vice-President from 1980 to 1982.

Mr. Taddeo is tri-lingual and married to Angela Nucci.
   
 


Aidan S. Bolger
President & CEO


Mr. Bolger was born in Montreal and educated at Loyola College now Concordia University and Buxton University in London England graduating with Bachelor's Degree in Arts.

Mr. Bolger began his career in the construction equipment business with John Deere and subsequently joined Avis Transport of Canada in the full service truck leasing division. He spent 5 years with Avis before joining the Truck Division of The Hertz Corporation working out of both Chicago and New York. Mr. Bolger then became the youngest dealer principal for a major truck manufacturer, The White Motor Corporation of Canada. He took the dealership from the very last to the second largest in Canada in its first year. Mr. Bolger then joined Western Star Trucks upon the demise of White when it was sold as a result of the parent company's insolvency.

Mr. Bolger returned to the long term full service leasing Industry and spent the next 17 years growing his company into one of the largest Nationalease affiliates in Canada. The company was eventually sold and Mr. Bolger changed direction and did a reverse takeover of one of the junior resource companies on the TSX becoming the President & CEO and control block shareholder. The company had innovative an software application and solution for the insurance industry.

Mr. Bolger returned as a dealer for a company manufacturing different types of transport trailers, intermodal container chassis and domestic high cube container boxes. Subsequent to the owner's death, the distribution rights for Canada were acquired from TICO for the sale and distribution of the TICO terminal tractors plus the ancillary TICO intermodal trailers. Mr. Bolger is bi-lingual.
   
 


Mr. Peter Dragffy
Vice President of
Engineering & Operations.


Mr. Dragffy was born in Budapest Hungary and emigrated to Montreal Canada at a very young age. Peter attended Loyola College now Concordia University and McGill University graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering.

Mr. Dragffy career spans a period of over 23 years with General Motors and an additional 5 years with the consumer products of Bombardier.

Peter is responsible for all the Tico of Canada Parts & Service affiliates in Montreal Toronto Calgary and Vancouver. Mr. Dragffy speaks English, French, German & Hungarian.
   
 


Mr. Walter Coupland
Director of Business Development


Walter Coupland was born and raised in the GTA area of Ontario. Mr. Coupland attended The University of Western Ontario and has attained several financial designations including CFP. CLU. and ChFC. Walter has spent most of his business career in the financial services industry with regional and national responsibilities. His background in partnering with business owners, along with being gifted mechanically, is a great asset for Mr. Coupland’s new career focus as Director of Business Development for TICO of Canada. This includes the innovative TICO terminal tractors and intermodal equipment solutions. They include the Pro Shuttle Twin Pick trailer and the soon to be introduced Intermodal Pro Container Chassis. Mr. Coupland also has the business development responsibility for FMZ the Green Power Management and Fuel MaximiZer Solution in the province of Ontario.
   
 


Mr. Don MacDougall
Sales Manager Québec & Maritimes


Don MacDougall was born and raised in Montreal and after completing his studies in school, he joined the Canadian National Railway. The MacDougall name has been synonymous with CN for over 90 years starting with Don's grandfather, father and he himself for over 20 years.

Don was a machinist by trade but branched out into operations. Don was one of the first in the Iron Highway and has worked in progressive intermodal management operations for the last 15 years.

Don brings a wealth of knowledge with special emphasis on terminal tractors, operating both Ottawa's and Capacity's over the last 15 years. Don's mechanical talent, together with his hands on operational experience in all types of climates brings a unique and gifted skill set to TICO. Don has two wonderful children that he adores and is fluently bi-lingual. Don also includes golf in his leisure time and TICO of Canada is proud to have him represent our TICO line of Terminal Tractors, Intermodal equipment and FMZ as our Sales Manager for Quebec and the Maritimes.
